Thank you for contacting Skydio Support. We're sorry to hear about the collision you've recently experienced with your Skydio 2 drone, but we'll be happy to help here.
While propellers themselves are field replaceable, the propeller hangers and motors are not a self-repair item. We understand why you feel as though self-repair would be an option for this matter, however, we’re unable to approve letting customers complete any kind of intricate repairs that are outside of a battery replacement or a propeller replacement. Unfortunately, we will need your drone in hand to evaluate, repair, and recalibrate. Our apologies for any inconvenience. We always strive to improve the experience and performance of our products, as well as their safety.
One of the many reasons that all repairs are to be completed in-house is due to the drone needing to be recalibrated and re-flashed after repair. We can only do this process, as we have a proprietary system used to recalibrate our drones. With any repair, there is a proprietary calibration that has to occur and we do this with every drone so the experience is never compromised. While we are looking at options to eventually allow customers to repair at home - we have no timeline on when or if that will be possible.
That being said, it’s very likely that your Skydio drone is repairable. We’ll need the drone sent back to our facility to evaluate it for repair. Please read the repair terms and timeline agreement below. If you agree to the terms and timeline below and would like to proceed, please let us know so we can initiate your repair!
Repair Terms and Timelines
Repair evaluation requires the drone to be disassembled. Once the damage is evaluated, we'll provide a quote for the repairs. Repair evaluation costs $150, is non-refundable, and must be paid within 5 DAYS after the payment link email is sent to you.
Skydio will then provide you with a return shipping label to send the damaged drone in as part of the evaluation costs. Please note vehicles must be shipped within 5 DAYS of receiving the shipping label.
Total repair costs for Skydio 2/2+ can range from $200 - $850. Note that any damage involving water contact to your Skydio drone typically costs $850 to repair. Final Repair invoices are expected to be paid within 5 DAYS.
If you choose to proceed with repairs, the evaluation fee of $150 will be deducted from the cost of the repairs. If you choose not to proceed or if we do not hear from you for 14 days, the disassembled drone will be returned to the shipping address on file, and the evaluation fee will not be refunded.
Please note that, depending on the severity of the damage assessment, the repair process may often result in Skydio replacing your damaged drone with a fully recalibrated and factory-reconditioned drone. If you proceed with repairs, we cannot send your original damaged unit back in addition to the replacement drone offered.
If you're interested in moving forward with the repair evaluation, please let us know and confirm the Wifi name of your drone in your response so we can initiate the process.
Thanks again - we hope to get you back up and flying again soon.
