It’s hard to believe that the school year is about to begin! As we prepare for the start of the semester, we wanted to share some important student employment information with you.
Student employment will look and feel different than what is typical on campus as we progress through the coming months while dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. However, we fully expect to have a wide range of both on-campus and remote employment options available for students. On-campus employers have been asked to think creatively about the needs of their departments and, while some positions that were available in prior years will not be feasible during this time, there will also be new opportunities for work.
We are excited to announce that in the coming days we will be transitioning all student employment positions to Handshake, Wesleyan’s career management platform. Beginning Monday, August 31, all campus jobs will be posted on Handshake and you will be able to search for and apply to positions directly on the platform. In the meantime, be sure to activate and fill in your Handshake profile and proactively reach out to departments directly now to inquire about possible openings this fall. After the 31st be sure to check Handshake regularly for new opportunities, as they will be added as they become available.
As part of Wesleyan’s Week of Welcome, we will be hosting a virtual Student Employment Fair on Thursday, September 3 from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm. This is a great opportunity to connect with on-campus employers, participate in interviews, and even potentially be hired. We hope you will join us!
Please note for students studying remotely from outside the United States: for a variety of reasons, we are unable to offer employment to students living and studying in other countries; however, students studying remotely outside the United States who were awarded work-study should contact their Financial Aid Director for additional information.
You can find additional information regarding student employment on our website which will continue to expand as the semester moves forward. If you have any questions or need help getting started, please reach out to: email@example.com.
We look forward to welcoming you in the fall!
