The Economic Blackout
“Consumers are preparing for a 24-hour economic blackout on Friday, one of several boycotts planned by groups of consumers or activists to protest what they call corporate greed, companies that have rolled back their diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and President Donald Trump's efforts to eliminate federal DEI programs since taking office.”
This is TODAY.

And it’s your chance to do an easy type of activism. Of course, we all need to eat, but if you can, shop at places YOU KNOW share your philosophy of advancing justice and equity.
Special thanks to Dan Dewalt for sharing the flyer with us!

Report ICE Activity
Thank you VT Asylum Project and Migrant Justice!!!!
“Constitutional Rights to privacy from law enforcement are for EVERYONE. If you judge that it is safe for you to do so, consider asserting your Fourth Amendment rights with ICE and CBP and do not volunteer unnecessary information about your identity and immigration status. That said, you know your safety best and immigrants with status or applications pending can deescalate ICE and CBP encounters by showing evidence that an enforcement activity is moot. Educate yourselves and your communities at https://www.vtlanguagejustice.org/projects-6.:
They developed this form so you can help keep our fellow Vermonters safe from what I believe is inhumane government trampling of rights. You can use this tool wherever you live in Vermont!
You can report ICE activity with this link: Report ICE Activity to Vermont Asylum Assistance Project in partnership w/Migrant Justice
Here’s the form description for accessibility…
Vermont Asylum Assistance Project (www.vaapvt.org) increases VT noncitizens' awareness of and access to their immigration legal rights through direct services, pro bono coordination, public education, and advocacy. [...]
If you are witness to ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) or CBP (Customs and Border Protection) activity in Vermont, or someone you know was detained for immigration reasons in or around Vermont, please complete this form so VAAP can inform the public about patterns and practices of immigration enforcement activities in our state.
VAAP stores information submitted [...] and shares it with the Migrant Justice Rapid Response Team so they can follow up with impacted families and try to connect them with legal and related supports.
“Remember, we spread information, not panic. Always report the location, time, and the perceived activity when you report. Be as specific as you can!”

On February 28, 1967, Private First Class James Anderson, Jr. sacrificed his life to protect his fellow soldiers by grasping a grenade and shielding the explosion with his body. He was the first Black U.S. Marine to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor.
