LGBTI movements are under intense pressure from draconian funding cuts and rising hostility from global leaders. LGBTI people are being excluded from life-saving HIV medication.¹ Safe spaces are being forced to close.²   

The U.S. administration's foreign aid freeze is depriving millions of people of services they rely upon for survival while eliminating the institutions, initiatives, and expertise that LGBTI movements have steadily built for decades. Compounding the crisis, The Netherlands plans major cuts to funding for civil society over the next five years.

In 2024, GPP initiated the Fund Our Futures Campaign to meet this exact moment. At the first-ever Global LGBTI Funding Summit, we launched the campaign with an initial US$100 million in pledges from 28 leading foundations, corporate funders, and donor governments, including the foreign ministries of Denmark, Germany, and Norway. 

New funding will save LGBTI lives, keep LGBTI organizations open, and equip LGBTI movements to respond to an emboldened opposition. 

The terms of the campaign are the same. Donors pledge to increase their support for LGBTI communities, awarding funds to the organizations of their choice anywhere in the world.
